Festival Château Nord 2024

In summer 2024, the first “Festival Château Nord” took place at the Château de Dompierre, although still under the name “Concerts d’été”.
The concept: guided tours of the château under the expert guidance of historian Michael Thoury, combined with subsequent concerts.
Depending on the concert programme, the guided tours highlighted different aspects of the 1000-year history of the castle and its surroundings. The interested audience was offered three concerts: music for piano written in exile, chamber music from
the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, as well as music on unusual instruments made of stone.
The musicians, who had travelled from various European countries, offered interpretations of a very high standard. The performances took place both in the romantic parlour and in the idyllic inner courtyard of the castle.
A three-day pizzica workshop (folk dance from the south of Italy, related to the somewhat better-known tarantella) rounded off the cultural programme at Château de Dompierre in summer 2024.
