Finissage and Jazz night

Finissage with Lucile Leloup

My cross-disciplinary approach to the worlds of culture and agriculture has led me to develop a complex and sensitive view of the relationships we share with the living world. On the eve of the handover of the family farm to new hands, I’m looking to understand how this pivotal moment is also the moment when the stories that populate the landscape are passed on. To do this, I use mainly materials from my rural surroundings, such as wool, wood, hemp and linen.

It is through the transversality of these materials, which have already undergone cycles of transformation, that I tend to inscribe myself in a dynamic of movement and long temporality. I like to work around contradictory notions such as the static and the dynamic, the robust and the fragile, or presence and lack. By considering the memories with which the earth is imbued, I seek to recount the intimate relationships at play in the vivid and fragile world of a farming community in the throes of transformation.
